A quiet street, a short walk to the water

Beautifully presented. Ready for a proper getaway.

Situated in a tranquil pocket of Guilderton, Waves and Moore is a well-kept 3 × 1 home made for families who want space, comfort and an easy rhythm: morning cuppa on the front verandah, a day on the river or beach, sand rinsed off in the outdoor shower, then sundowners out the back.

All beds are made on arrival. Towels are waiting. Reverse-cycle air-conditioning cools the living space in summer; a pot belly stove warms it in winter (one bag of wood included from 1 May to 15 September). Drift off to the sound of the waves.

The neighbourhood

Where the Moore River meets the sea.

Guilderton is a little over an hour north of Perth — the last unspoiled river estuary on the Swan Coastal Plain. Generations of Western Australians come back for the same reasons: calm water for kids, a proper beach, sunsets that stop conversation, and nothing you have to rush for.

River & sandbar

Swim the sheltered estuary, paddle a kayak upstream, or walk the sandbar when the mouth is closed. A natural playground for families.

Indian Ocean

White sand, turquoise water, beach and reef fishing, and sunsets that turn the whole town gold.

The Desert dunes

Sandboard the mobile dunes locals call The Desert. Pack water and sunscreen — the kids will sleep well.

Boardwalk & lookouts

Start with the Guilderton boardwalk. Lookouts above the caravan park are the classic sunset seat.

Easy days

Nine-hole golf, mini golf, free gas barbecues at the river mouth, shells, sandcastles, and a country-club dinner if you don’t feel like cooking.

Further afield

Wilbinga Nature Reserve, Gingin Brook, the Gravity Discovery Centre, and the long coastal run toward Lancelin and Cervantes.

“Everything was clean and beautifully-presented. There were five of us, and we had enough space — unlike some holiday rentals that feel cramped.”

Joondanna · April 2025

“Second time staying. Has linen, which is fabulous. Modern and very clean. Quiet street. Much nicer than Guilderton ‘shacks’. I recommend this home.”

Edgewater · January 2025

“The house did not disappoint. Comfortable, open plan and heaps of room to park two cars with trailers in the front yard.”
